Film’s Success Through Film Criticism
Film criticism is a way to analyze and evaluate a film, both individually and collectively. This can be divided into two, where the first one is the journalistic criticism that appears regularly on newspaper or other popular mass-media outlet. The second one is the academic criticism by film scholar based on the film theory and generally, it is published in journals.
The film criticism is usually done by the film critic that work for newspaper, magazines, or other broadcast media. They mainly review the new releases. Even though the criticism that they make is based on their watching the movie only once and the one or two days to build an opinion, people believe that the film criticism from the critics has a great impact to the success of a film.
The plot summary and the description of a film will have an extremely important impact to the viewer, whether they decide to see the film or not. The poor film criticism, especially from the named critic, will end to cause obscurity and great financial loss.
Film criticism has become a great debate, since many people are trying to prove that the great impact of the review does not exist. So many ways are done to do this, involving the refusal of using the reviewer service for their new film, or maybe give the review only some part of the film, to avoid the advanced viewing of their new produced film. This usually backfires the company producing the film, still. It is since the reviewer will be able to give the note whether the film is worth seeing or not.
